The Independent Badminton Federation UK (“IBFUK”, “we”) runs this website. This page explains what information we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
We collect very little. We do not use advertising trackers, we do not sell or share your information, and you can browse this site without giving us anything.
If you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, phone number if you give one, and your message. We use these only to reply to you and to keep a record of the conversation. Messages are stored in our own database and may also be forwarded to a federation email address.
The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about the federation.
Our player directory and members pages show names, playing grades, clubs and towns, and sometimes photographs. This information is published so the badminton community can find players, clubs and results.
If you are listed and would like your entry corrected or removed, contact us and we will deal with it.
This site sets one cookie, and only when you log in to the admin area:
connect.sid — keeps you signed in while you work. It
contains a random identifier, not your details, and is deleted when you log out
or the session expires.This is a strictly necessary cookie: the site cannot offer a login without it, so no consent banner is required. We set no advertising, analytics or third-party cookies of any kind.
We count how many times pages are viewed, and how many times a sponsor’s advert is shown or clicked, so we can tell sponsors how their support performed.
These are counts only. We do not store your IP address, we do not set a cookie for this, and we cannot identify you or follow you from one day to the next. To count how many different people visited on a given day, we create a short code from your IP address and browser combined with a secret that is replaced every midnight; that code is deleted once the day ends and cannot be traced back to you or matched against any other day.
Links to our sponsors pass through our own site so we can count the click, then send you straight on. We tell the sponsor nothing about who clicked. Once you arrive on their website you are covered by their privacy policy, not ours.
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we are using it. Contact us and we will respond.
If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
